I might feel a twinge of disappointment that he would be joining the enemy of my alma matter. But I would get over it very quickly and mostly feel very proud of my son's accomplishments and opportunities. I really can't fathom any reason why I would visit CB and offer a fairly one-sided and unconfirmable critique of BYU if I knew I was going to be a Utah fan for at least the next four years.
I also cannot imagine bragging about spending prior years helping commits defect from BYU to Utah, and then be mystified that BYU didn't welcome me with open arms when I went back to campus.
There are many bizarre things about Ofahengaue's post. But at least one thing is clear. Assuming that really was Ofahengaue posting, all his years working with Utah and Sitake haven't meant much to him.
The fact that he came to this Web site after his son committed and shared the story in the way he did makes it obvious that he wishes badly his sons were going to BYU instead of Utah. He wants them to play for Bronco - not Kyle. He wants them to play for an independent - not a BCS school. And he is crushed to some degree that it won't be happening.
All of his time with the U, all of his allegedly negative and unfair experiences with Provo in the last 14 years, and he still would rather have his sons playing at the Y. To me, that fact speaks volumes louder than anything else he wrote.
