There was a ton of traffic and everyone was going about 80. I was set on cruise control at 79.
The policeman pulled me over and starts acting all crazy and asking what my hurry was. I said I was in no hurry, I was just driving with my wife and her sister to their grandparents house.
Then he got really animated and started asking why I was going 89 in a 75. I simply told him I was not going 89 and that it would be impossible, given the traffic to even go 89. My wife said, he's been going 79 on cruise control for a while now. And the cop freiked out and went to his car. Came back 5 minutes later with a warning.
I think they just make up speeds in "them parts" because they don't know how to use radar guns.
I had some friends in southeast Idaho get pulled over based on the cop using the technique of parking in a location and using his stop watch to time cars going from point A to point B. That was about 12 years ago though, maybe they have upped their technology in ID since then though.
