Honestly, I think this is a product of trolling.
It's not that dissimilar to Austin Collie. Colie thanks God and everyone freaks out. Baylor kids wear "One God, One Team" shirts and it's fine.
BYU says "put football 5th" and it's because they're lazy. SEC coaches say "put God, school and family first" do people care as much?
Every team will lose games and when BYU losses games, people come on here and point to all kinds of excuses. They're lazy, the priority list ... the heart of the argument is that BYU just doesn't want to win.
I don't buy it. Like I said, I've seen interviews from SEC coaches (that I wish I could link to now) where they say, "look, we want you thinking about football a lot, but your life is more important. Every minute you're not dealing with church or in school or with your family, we want you thinking about football ..."
How should BYU draw up its priorities?
What should be more important than football?
Is faith really more important? How about family? School? Your friends?
I know there are people who say things like "you can't win championships playing paddy-cake"
It just seams like it's too easy of a target for any loss ... "you should have have tried harder. Put down the scriptures and start hitting more." Thanks for the insight.
I don't buy that BYU coaches and players don't care enough, but everyone is welcome to their opinions.
