With someone who is currently negotiating their media contract like the Big East or even Big XII in conjunction with Notre dame. An agreement with BYU will make the contract more lucrative without adding another mouth to the table.

And if the media partner of the league is ESPN like is the case with the Big XII, then the media partner is interested in both sides of the agreement and more likely to go to bat to get it done.
