Have BSU and TCU been better than us? Of course. The Utah comparisons end up really close.

10 years ago TCU and BSU wouldn't have been included in that group. Marshall and Hawaii probably would have. Are you going to constantly be telling us how bad we suck if we aren't the best mid-major? When we were better than TCU 10 years ago did anyone care? I didn't. How about hypothetically in 10 years when the Nevada Wolfpack are winning 12 games every year? Then they are our competition and not Boise St because they have been down. We won't always be the best.

10-15 years ago we would have said we couldn't have competed with national powerhouses like CU. Well guess what, times change.

Put Notre Dame on that list and compare us to them. Who has more resources? Who recruits better. They are actually a great comparison as they are under just a few of the restrictions that we fall under. If you would have told me when Bronco started that we would be more successful than Notre Dame in his first 7 seasons I would have been ECSTATIC.

You say the gap is widening because we suffered through the Jake Heaps era (no this isn't a knock on Jake Heaps himself, just what the team accomplished with him at QB). Yes, we were 7-6 two years ago. Last year we were on our way up and finished 10-3 and in the top 25. This year looks to be better as we return just about everyone. Not seeing how the gap is widening.

The point is that things happen. USC, Alabama, Notre Dame and Michigan aren't always 12-0. TCU's recruiting classes were awful, yet they churned out stars like Andy Dalton and Jerry Hughes. They certainly were coached well, but were more diamonds in the rough than anything (remember Dalton started as a freshman? Probably more than coaching going on there).

Would I have liked to have been better in the past 7 years? Absolutely. Do I get my panties in a bunch because a couple of teams have been more succesful? No.
