is rather significant, don't you? I kind of agree with both of you. We should probably be getting better results, but thinking that our results should be the same as TCU's or BSU's, in light of the attrition numbers and mission management, is unrealistic. I think I fall mostly in the Pollyanna category and I'm a big Bronco supporter, but we certainly haven't made the transition from good to great. All the stats you and AEC shared tell an interesting story. I don't know what conclusions would be justifiable based on those stats, but I don't think these are:
Bronco is an exceptional coach.
Bronco is not getting the job done.
Bronco is not developing our players.
Bronco needs to be fired.
I would guess that the stats say that Bronco has built a program of high expectations and authentic reinforcement of BYU's honor code and mission which has led to a lot of attrition. For those that fit the mold Bronco has created, he has been able to do a lot. I'd say give Bronco 3-5 more years to see if he can take his guys to the next level. Until then, I think he deserves our respect and trust, and I will continue to defend him against unfair criticism. Your original posts were not unfair, by the way.
