Certain posters love perceived authority figures.

He is held up by many as an "insider," therefore he is an authority figure. Look at all the posters that thanked him for his post. Same thing happens when JohnHaddow posts. You'll see a bunch of posts thanking him.

The reverence for perceived authority is a weird phenomenon. There were posts blaming the homeless man in Fullerton that was beat to death, because he was "resisting arrest."

It is bizarre.

At the same time, I enjoy Shog's posts, as well as Haddow's. It is the reverence and "gracing us with their presence" type feel when they post on the board that is interesting to me.
