It's a great thing. BYU may be unable to take advantage of it, but it is, undeniably, a great thing. Under the current system, BYU's opportunities are limited and small. The new system BYU gets a chance to create, instead of being stuck with what is. This is a good thing.
Now the end result may be hard to forecast - certainly I can't do it - but it always is. The myth is that we know what is going to happen, and that myth is hard to dispel when there's a set of rules you think people will follow. Throw the rules out, like this, and everyone can see the possibilities.
