Neither am I, which is why I laugh at those who shriek "BYU
is arrogant! BYU blew it! We're all gonna DIIEEEE!"
But I do know that BYU has been trying for years to improve its situation. Rondo actually got us an invite to the P12 along with Colorado, but the Buffs changed their minds at the last second and the deal fell apart. I also know that Tom Holmoe isn't "trying to make Indy the permanent solution", as per the OP.
If you truly know a person who works closely with Tom, then you know Tom is trying his hardest to improve BYU's situation, but I'm skeptical that a friend who's a nephew to someone who works for Tom is very connected.
I don't know what BYU's future holds, but I do know that endless speculative posts casting blame at BYU for not giving Veruca Salt what she wants right now won't make a dent in our current situation.
Anyone who ignores what's plausible, let alone possible, can't be taken seriously as a "realist". Period.
