I personally don't see Utah gaining more relevance than they have right now. Unless something big changes, like Utah cranks out a couple of PAc-12 championships, USC is always going to be the big dog even in your half of the conference.

There are only a small number of schools that are national names. I am not saying BYU is even on that list. BYU is a whole unique animal because it has a national presence, but on a very small scale. Utah has a great regional presence, but as far as the national level they have just made some waves, no lasting presence.
