...I really have to thank you for making my week!!! Hoooooooo! That was rich!
I went around my office and several of the adjoining offices and asked people I know who are sports fans what they thought of those former yewts and the OVERWHELMING consensus response was, "Who?!?"
The closest we got to any player being recognized was when I mentioned Steve Smith (here's the really funny part) but they thought I was asking about Steve Smith the former Trojan WR not Steve Smith the former Yewt. When I tried to clarify that it's not THAT Steve Smith then they thought I was talking about Steven A. Smith the ESPN sports announcer. When I mentioned that there was a Steve Smith that played for Yewtah the overwhelming response was, "What?! There's another Steve Smith in the NFL?"
Not ONCE did anyone recognize the name of Star Lotulelei. Nobody knew he plays for the Yewts and when I asked about Alex Smith (the former #1 pick) most people's response was (and I quote), "Oh, he stinks". All the rest of the guys you listed I couldn't get one person that could tell me what team in the NFL they played for. A few guys recognized Eric Weddle only because he made the Pro Bowl last year but nobody knew he played for the yewts.
You need to get away from the air pollution in SL Valley and get a breath of fresh air from the real world pal. You've been drinking the yewt kewlaid far too much.
Oh and btw, nobody knew you were in the Pac12 either and I live in the Pacific NW.
Word of advice, don't confuse popularity, recognition or relevance with Yewtah football.
"I'll admit, BYU football in the 80s was very respectable. Very cool, classic Lavell. Alot of great players. Mcmahon, Young, Detmer. Very good teams."
