with the MLB...verses get shuttled immediately down to the farm leagues. I've heard that a pretty high percentage of kids who sign straight out of HS spend a few years of low pay in the farm leagues, then get cut...and have to try to figure out how to go back and make something out of their lives...as opposed to kids who go the college route and have a head start on actually "making it" in either BB or a real, regular career.
Anyone in the know on this?
