While at BYU I worked for BYU grounds(pesticide crew) and I had a little accident in a grounds vehicle. In order to get back into good graces and be able to drive a BYU vehicle I had to take a safety driving course on campus. Anyway, as people were filing into the classroom in walks Lavell. We all had to divulge what we did wrong and Lavell had taken a BYU vehicle home and had backed into one of his own cars. Prior to us confessing a student showed up a little late and sat down and to his suprise he was sitting next to Lavell. You could tell he was just itching to say something. I watched him during the class and he kept looking at Lavell and then looking away kind of like you would do with an attractive girl you don't know, not wanting to get caught looking too much. There was a slight break in the class as they tried to get the VCR to work and people began to visit. This kid was just chomping at the bit to say something and then with all the courage he could muster he said, "Remember that Miami game?" Lavell just replied, "Yea." There was nothing more said but I remember how amusing it was to watch this kid and to see his bubble kind of burst. I don't know what more he expected Lavell to say.
