We have been hearing mourning and wailing and gnashing of teeth about the possibility that BYU missed their chance to be in the Big 12. But has anyone ever thought that it isn't in the plan to be in the Big 12? While I don't believe that God is orchestrating sports wins and losses and has more important things to care about, if the goal of the BYU football team truly is to be a missionary tool, and a place where players can grow and develop in the gospel, don't you think He has an interest in the program? BYU is officially representing the church to the world, so it makes sense that God cares about the program. We think we know what is best for the program, but do we know better than Him? Maybe a national championship isn't necessary to accomplish all of the other goals. But I do think a competitive program that is relevant is. All I am saying is that there may be a better plan than what we have come up with and maybe we need a little more trust and faith in the direction things are going. I realize BYU is led by men who make mistakes and it is far from perfect, but that isn't unlike any other aspect of the church.
Ute fans- Does this make me self righteous? Am I totally up in the night?
