I hope you'll join my bandwagon movement.
I'd rather see BYU in a conference they can win each year than see them wallow in mediocrity in the B12. It's clear BYU is a BCS caliber program as evidenced by their BCS rankings the past few years, their attendance and fan following, their facilities, and their history. We don't need the B12 to prove this point. We just need to win the big games when we get the chance.
For example would Utah have still been undefeated in 2008 if they played Alabama's schedule? Very unlikely, they won a bunch of games against average teams and got up and played an amazing game against a really good Alabama team that was down on their luck and not ready for them. If that game was for the NC it would have been a different story. The same goes for BSU's BCS bowls.
The Big East provides the perfect setup for that. Go undefeated and win the Big East and the likelyhood of a spot at the playoff table is pretty high. Even if you have one loss and a strong OOC schedule and some wins against one and two loss Big East teams it's also likely you'll get into the playoff. Especially when it gets expanded to 8 teams as is likley to happen soon considering it is bound to become the main source of post season revenue when the viewership for the bowl games drops.
Now is the time to make the jump to the Big East considering we have a lot of bargaining power that can help us to keep rebroadcast and 2nd/3rd tier rights, and make a comparable amount of money as we have now with ESPN. And scheduling ain't getting any easier.
BYU to the Big East!!!
