Finally, regarding the continued statements from Chris Hill about conference affiliation, we should also ignore the fact that Michigan's announcement (that was clearly timed to interfere with BYU because Michigan and how dare they not pay due respect to BYU's "Media Day") ALSO announced that Michigan would be playing Colorado and Oregon State, and that Michigan's athletic director stated a few weeks ago that these games were being scheduled to get a jump on the Pac 12- Big 10 scheduling alliance. You are right, Chris Hill's statement was clearly designed to slight BYU's decision to be an independent in football.
