With Boise to the Big East and BigXii apparently of the table, this is my best attempt at a palatable conference for BYU and how I think it would compare to independence.
-Sunday play: SAME
-TV revenue: WORSE
-Visibility to BYU fans: WORSE
-Visibility to non-BYU/LDS fans: BETTER
-National title/final four access: SAME
-Scheduling: BETTER
-Overall fun: MUCH BETTER
Divisions (*BBall only*)
EAST
Connecticut

Louisville
Cincinnati
Navy
Temple
USF
UCF
*St. Johns, Providence, Georgetown, Seton Hall, Marquette, Depaul, Notre Dame, Villanova*
WEST
Brigham Young

San Diego State
Air Force
UNLV
Memphis
Houston
SMU
*St. Mary's, Gonzaga, Pepperdine, Loyola Marymount, Portland, San Diego, San Francisco, Santa Clara*
Scheduling:
Football: 7 division, 2 cross division, 3 OOC. CCG East vs West
Basketball: 15 division + 8 cross division (BBall only play cross division vs. BBall only, FB schools play against FB schools cross division). Conference tournament- mash up with East and West teams playing against one another in first round (East 1 vs West 16, West 5 vs East 12, etc).
It all depends on if the Eastern and Western Catholic schools would unite to make the biggest basketball conference in the country. BYU sould be instrumental.
