It's CGI people punching CGI monsters with no meaning or significance and mediocre effects. Then, the guys in charge decide that the one jet the military apparently owns should nuke themselves (as opposed to the seemingly more obvious choice of nuking the bad guys). What in the ending of the Avengers made sense, let alone was compelling?

Chronicle was exactly the ending the whole movie was clearly building to, without the inexplicable choices of Avengers.
