Agreed -
I was a student at Utah, and I actually think that students would rather pay a decent amount to be in the MUSS than be forced to pay and athletic department fee. The school would bring in less money, though, so they charge every student. I think that the school should move to a MUSS fee (of more than $30) instead of charging student fees, and that the state should reallocate the $2 million (or $7 million or whatever it is) into schools like USU, SUU, Weber, UVU, Snow, etc. for their athletic departments, OR just not use that money for athletics and put it into the general education system.

I don't think this is being harsh on Utah, either. Rice-Eccles Stadium is what it is today because of outside funding for the Olympics, and a lot of other places on campus as well (Trax, the student dorms, etc.). If Utah can generate revenue on its own, it shouldn't need subsidy.
