It says that student fees are an indirect subsidy, and it was published by the UU. It is clearly a significant tax on the student population, and clearly takes money out of the academic realm, and puts it into the athletic realm.

It seem to me that with all the Cartel money coming in, the state should be taking money from the UU athletic pot and putting it into the state's general education pot. If the Utes want money for athletics, get it from Huntsman, or at least let the students donate so they get a tax deduction. Compelling people to support UU athletics is fiscally and morally wrong.
