I look at it like this
I'm successful and have plenty for the needs of myself and my family for the rest of my life. If I see someone doing a good job working at a difficult job that I don't want to do, then I have no problem throwing a very small piece of my good fortune their way. I married a former waitress that worked very hard for minimum wage, relying on tips from nice people to make her enough to get through school and survive. A few bucks here or there isn't going to make a difference to me, but could make a big difference to someone else. The only requirement is that I make the decision as to what and who to spend my money on, I earned it so I get to decide who I give it to.
