South Carolina 2012 schedule includes East Carolina, Wofford and UAB
Michigan State 2012 schedule includes Central Michigan and Eastern Michigan (they also play Boise but they are a quality opponent)
Purdue 2012 schedule includes Eastern Kentucky, Eastern Michigan, and Marshall
Notre Dame and USC are good examples because they play ridiculous schedules. These other schools, including Georgia, South Carolina, MSU and Purdue are bad examples because they all play at least 3 teams from non-AQ conferences. If Utah schedules BYU in 14/15, they play 11 games against AQ teams. I don't have to remind you that Utah is not Notre Dame or USC. They don't have the talent or depth to handle that type of schedule. Injuries would take their toll in addition to an increase in overall losses because of the percentages.
Once again, the vast vast vast majority of AQ teams play at least 2-3 teams from non-AQ conferences. It's not because they are afraid. It's because they are smart and they understand the importance of keeping their team healthy and achieving bowl eligibility or competing for a national title.
