I grew up on PAC 12 and Gonzaga boards, and, I confess that I have visited the tiny hamlet known as Utefans.net a time or two (I haven't been there in more than a year now, and I am committed to staying clean).

With those experiences, I have NEVER seen the sort of self-mauling that occurs here on a daily basis for some of the fans. Yes, we all get mad sometimes, and spout off in the middle of a bad game, or after an event like no NFL draft picks. But the amount of masochism among BYU fans is just plain weird. Yes, it's a minority, but they are so convinced that their calling in life is to be a gadfly of misery that it seems like more than it is.

For me, that is the most embarrassing part of BYU football. And it's not even close. Utes don't have to do anything better than us these days to feel good. They just have to pop over to CB and watch the CB Gloom Club tear themselves to pieces.
