Squatters move into a vacant home, and it takes the
owners 8 months of legal battles to get them to leave.

Guy gets a job out of state, and they have trouble selling the home so they just winterize it and leave it vacant planning on selling it later. Neighbor calls them to tell them that people are moving into the vacant home. Turns out the squatters paid some attorney $5k to file "adverse possession" paperwork and assumed ownership of the house, and refused to leave. When the owners returned the squatters wouldn't leave, so the owners had to live in some relatives basement for 8 months until the court evicted the squatters.

I think I could have cleared them out a little bit faster with my 12 gauge.
