by local 'hitch installer' on my pickup... ( 20 years ago) Everything worked great for several years... until I decided to move my boat with my 'bumper hitch'.. instead of my receiver hitch. When I started to move the boat... it pulled my bumper off my truck... After some investigation and a consult from a blacksmith... I found that the people who put my hitch on cut my bumper brackets 3/4 off so the receiver hitch would fit my truck.... The local ' hitch store' denied any wrong doing... I had to have the bumper welded back in the proper place, and I will not have anyone put hitches on except the DEALER. I know it will cost an extra hundred dollars but I have never had any problem since.
