My encounter with Stephen R. Covey
I was an acquaintance of one of Stephen R. Covey's daughters at BYU around 1993-94. At one point I was invited up to his house with his daughter and hung out with their family.

Stephen took my friend and I on a tour of his home. It was incredible. His home was designed with a lot of symbolism in mind.

Here was my favorite. We went upstairs to his office and he told me to sit at his desk. I looked at him like, "Are you serious". He said, "Yeah, take a see I want to show you something."

So I sat at his desk and looked up. He said "You see those three circular window?"

"Yeah" was my reply.

"Well look through them and tell me what you see."

"Well, I see the Provo Temple through that window."

"And how about the others?"

"Oh, I see the MTC through that one."

"Yes you do, was his reply, and how about that one?"

"BYU!"

"Yes, he said. When I sit at my desk I am always reminded of the 3 missions of the Church. Perfect the Saints, Preach the Gospel, and Redeem the Dead."

I will never forget that moment.
