I think he was going to gain 1500 yards and get us a NC. He was a good back, but not yet great. What makes me sad is that he appeared to be a good fit for BYU and BYU for him. A non-LDS poly-Hispanic kid from SoCalif that was super strict in diet, exercise and lifestyle (self imposed curfue, didn't party, drink, drugs, etc...). Was willing to cut his hair to attend BYU, even though he probably would have rather kept it. His HS has a brother who played for BYU and is a JC coach now, and his dad is a semi-legendary JC coach. Having a brother pass away, I would only hope that Juice would become more loyal and feel more love with his teammates and coaches than at any other school.
This whole thing just kind of makes me sad, but sad for the reasons that makes BYU a special place and thinking it would be a perfect fit. I don't know the reasons, so I guess I need to reserve too much of the emotion.
