It was easy to see last year that Johnson is more athletically talented than Eason. Johnson showed that he's faster, quicker, cuts faster, has a better nose for the ball, and can actually catch the ball when it lands in his hands. And, no offense to Eason as I loved his intensity, his fire, his effort, and the fact that overall he did perform well for us at FC, BUT...I agree with Eason and believe Johnson has the potential to be a major upgrade this season.
And there's that word: potential. Johnson displayed last year that he's full of potential, but just like on his kickoff returns, he also displayed that he wasn't quite ready for the spotlight. He was quite often out of position and would bite too easily on WR cuts. Other times he just looked lost. Because of that, Eason, despite being well behind Jordan in athletic talent, was the better corner last year. Which, imo, made the "coaches decision" a good one.
