Maybe a bit hyperbolic, but a reasonable microcosm.
The bottom line is this: BYU does not need expansion. At least not yet. The same culture does not exist with BYU football fans as it does with other major programs. Here, a day out @ LES, for many fans, is a good activity to go to with your younger kids, grandkids, whole family, etc. At other places, it's the biggest frat party available. On any given week, in the student section, a percentage of the students @ the game will know what conference our opponent plays in, who their best players are, etc. Another large fraction will be there bc their FHE family is going together. If someone told someone else to sit down at many other venues, people around that person would LAUGH at them. I'm not saying one is bad or one is better (though I personally prefer the general college football home football game to the BYU style.) What I am saying is that we are what we are, what we have been and what we will probably continue to be for a long time. Barring major changes in the culture of BYU fans, there will be no NEED for stadium expansion, and thus, no expansion.
