He did have good numbers in this last scrimmage, but for the most part he has struggled to complete passes in team segments. That doesn't inspire confidence for how he will do in actual games. Maybe that's not fair. Maybe he will tear it up if he has to fill in for Nelson. But I think that is why people aren't very excited about him.
After spring practices the coaches made it sound like Lark had made some strides forward and was looking much better. I was hopeful that he would be a good safety net for Nelson. But after the fall reports, I'm pretty skeptical about that. Hopefully we won't have to find out.
