and I'd say about 95% of them are pit bulls. And time after time I hear the same story . . . "he's never done that before. Its so out of character. He's really so gentle."
With many breeds, I agree with what you're saying, but with pit bulls I feel differently. Most of the cases I deal with are dogs who have great owners, who are gentle and loving with their dogs. The cases I deal with usually don't have any sort of mistreatment issues by the owners.
Some animals are just not meant to be tame. I'd put pit bulls into that category. There are many pit bulls out there that will never have a problem, but I'd never feel safe around one.
