I don't know if that's a matter of there being more pit
attacks, or if people are already afraid of pit bulls, so they tend to take those owners to court more for attacks because of the stereotype? I remember getting bit by a dog who "had never bitten before" that was straight from the owners mouth...but then a different member of the family picked the dog up and said, "oh, well yeah she did bite grandma the other day..." they knew full well that their dog had bitten before. People tend to want to put their pet on a pedestal, or themselves and act like they are the perfect dog owner, when really they either don't know what they are doing, or just think they are doing things right because of false information they've gotten over the years.

It's unfair to just take a breed and call it more dangerous than another when I can almost guarantee there are other factors that have not been understood because the average pet owner does not understand the way dogs minds work, their body language, etc.
