That is the debate of playing for present or future
Still 8 games (+ bowl?) to this season - not everyone is always eager to pack it in when a loss or 2 come. I bet lots of seniors on the team would not be excited about going 6-6 just because it will help with "next" year. There has to be a balance from the coaching and players perspective on what you are doing for now and the future of the program.
That is why the decisions aren't always clear to us fans...as a fan we'd gladly exchange one 6-6 season for our desired 13-0 blue goggled success that we believe Taysom will bring us...but how often has 13-0 actually happened?
Also a good chance the coaches think Taysom does give them a better chance in the present...
