I should have known I was arguing with a lawyer.
Obviously we are just going to go around and around in circles here, so this will be my last post on the matter.

If your only counter-argument is that USC's numbers shouldn't count then that is weak. I would have expected better (especially finding out you are a lawyer). As I said earlier, if USC's numbers need to be thrown out then so do Auburn, UNC, Ohio St, Penn St, Miami, etc. Every one of those programs either got hit with NCAA sanctions or were under NCAA investigation for improper activities. USC was just used as an example by the NCAA. They weren't doing anything different than those schools I just mentioned.

As far as the etched in stone comment. Take a look at this list here. It is in the books. Not going to change. These schools can lay claim to the title forever:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_NCAA_Men's_Division_I_Basketball_champions

But I guess anybody who knows anything about basketball will see this list and remember that pre-World War II titles don't count.

So you don't have to convince me that Utah has an NCAA title. I already know they do. And your beloved Cougars aren't on the list. I can't wait for the NCAA to give that distinguished mark to them that you mentioned though. That will be a great day in Provo.

I'm glad you had so much fun writing those articles and other pieces on this prior to law school though. Sounds like you learned a lot. I once wrote an article on Jackie Robinson in High School. Did you know he was the first black person to play in the major leagues?
