He was a diehard Aggie fan and attended the game as the chaplain for the USU athletics department at the time.

As he told the story, apparently the person offering the pre-game prayer in Provo asked specifically for a BYU victory. Of course he was furious, but even more so after he sees BYU go on to win their only game of the season.

I can't imagine anything that would make you feel more impotent as a team chaplain than seeing an otherwise winless rival knock you off after a prayer asking for divine intervention.
