Here is a pretty good idea to try when your team is playing offense.
My little league football coach had a whole bunch of hand stick. He was partial to two different kinds. One was a spray on stick and the other was in a big deodorant stick type tuby thing. I think the tuby thing worked best. It was kind of yellow and looked a bit like honey, but more yellow.
I would use this when a play was called that puts the quarterback "under center".
I would put a whole bunch of tuby sticky stuff on the back of the center's pants. A lot, maybe two or three tubes. Then, when the center makes the exchange with the quarterback, instead of putting the ball into the quarterback's hand, the center will place the ball into the sticky gob onto his pants. The quarterback will pretend that he has the ball and fade back to make a pass. Maybe even faking to the RB, in play action fashion. While the defense is analyzing where the quarterback will make the pass, the center will just take off running down the field, setting his sights on the end zone. I think it's a guaranteed 20 yard gain, or a TD, whichever is shorter.

I'm goign to ask Coach Martin where he got the tuby stuff.
