Yeah, I hate it when companies do that too. But if you
are still deciding, it looks like you can still get the better
rate.

Right now, John is able to get a promotion for $23 off per month
for 12 months. Starting July 8th, DirecTV will be changing that
promotion to $8 off per month for 4 months. Some simple math tells
me that $23 X 12 = $276 off (total), and $8 X 4 = $32, so if you
sign up before June 25th, you'll save $244 overall. The savings he
can get you on startup costs should remain the same.

Now of course, DirecTV could have an even better promotion a month
from now, but there's no way to know at this point.

If you'd like to take advantage of the current promotion, give John
a call at (801) 604-1259 and make sure to mention Cougarboard. If
you're calling long distance, just give him your number and he'll
call you right back. His company can do installs in all 50 states,
so it's worth calling him even if you're not in Utah.

You can find out more information at http://www.mtnOnDirecTV.com/.

In addition to giving you a great deal, he's also going to give a
referral bonus to Cougarboard. If you would like it applied as a
donation to your account, please send me a boardmail with the name
you used to sign up for DirecTV. I'll verify your order, and then
apply it to your account.

Some have asked what I'm going to do with this money. I'm actually
looking to do a server upgrade in the near future -- this server
has been running for 3 1/2 years now, so I'm hoping to get a new,
better server.

Please take advantage of this great opportunity to help yourself
and Cougarboard! I appreciate your support.

Nate Meikle here. Thought some of the faithful (and their kids)
might be interested to know about a football camp John Beck and
Cameron Jensen are putting on in a few weeks. Harline, Kehl and a
few other BYU players are going to be there as well. Here's a link

I've got one of those small Weber charcoal grills and I need to
upgrade. I've been looking around and would love to have a
grill/smoker. I don't really like grilling with propane/gas so I
want to keep it to charcoal/wood.

I went and looked at this one today but it seems kind of pricey for
a charcoal grill. It is nice in that you can raise and lower the
heat source so you could basically use it at a smoker too.

I keep hearing from ute fans as well as some preseason publications
that BYU was prehaps lucky in their victorys vs the utes the last
two years. I just see it as making a play when it counts. To me
lucky would have been John Beck throwing a Hail Mary into the end
zone from the 50 yard line and it bouncing around until if fell
into Harline's hands. That last drive in 06 had nothing to do with
luck it was all about making plays when a play needed to be made.
This last year the fact that Collie toasted Mccain had nothing to
do with luck. It was Collie and Hall making a play. Luck would have
been Mccain falling down and Collie standing their all alone or
Mccain jumping up to intercept the ball only to have it bounce off
his hands right into collie's hands. If any team was lucky it was
the utes when Unga dropped that sure TD right before the utes drove
down to take the lead. Unga had burned his man and would have
scored but just dropped the ball. It had nothing to do with the
utes, Unga just dropped the ball. To me that is LUCK! BYU's
victories over the utes in 06 and 07 hand nothing to do with Luck!

once a week, twice at the most. This is open to anyone who wants to
play. Age is not a problem. Just boardmail me or send a message and
the team you would like to be to my xbox live account. My gamer tag
is abogon02. Havent decided on what league to use but i believe a
mtn west would be fun, or we could just go crazy and do a sun

The answer is in their OOC scheduling:

Hawaii
at Florida
at Oregon State
Washington State
Cincinnati

With Hawaii losing the coach that got them there last season. With
the fiasco of last years bowl fresh in voters memories, and with
two road trips to tough venues (one a body bag game), the odds are
definitely not in their favor. I say Hawaii will not even be ranked
by end of the up coming season.

Boise State
at Oregon

Boise has one game all year that has any guts and it is a commuter
flight into Autzen Stadium. Oregon while losing a couple of key
players from last years team, are reloading. They will be starting
a fresh QB, and Roper may be the guy. The same guy that torched
South Florida in their bowl game when the Ducks won 56-21. In any
case Boise has been struggling with replacements in key areas of
their game which is why last year was not as stellar as they were
hoping it would be. This is another transition year in the
conference of cupcakes. Fresno is returning a great number of
starters and in my opinion they will give the Broncos their second
loss. A two loss Boise team will not be a BCS buster threat though
they would be ranked by years end.

Fresno State
at Rutgers
Wisconsin
at UCLA

The team the pundits are betting on to be a BCS buster. If they had
a schedule like Boise's I would say yes, however an east coast trip
that so early in the season against a team that has risen to a
solid competitor is not the recipe for success imo. The two
starting WR's for Rutgers could be the best tandem and two best
receivers in the Big East. They will expose early Fresno States
biggest weakness which is a gaping hole in the secondary. The irony
is the Bulldogs would have had a better chance vs Rutgers with Ray
Rice in the backfield being the goto guy, but this is going to be
an air assault which could have Fresno coming home with a loss.
Wisconsin is banged up on Defense which helps Fresno, and the
Badgers while moving more into the passing game do not have a QB
that really excites anyone. However they are consistent which means
a tough game. UCLA is a team that Fresno can ill afford to play.
Why? Because the Bulldogs cadre of veterans are mostly on the
offensive side of the ball. Now Fresno could stymie the Bruins
since their own offense is in shambles especially at the line, but
the UCLA defense is a difference maker and one that could score
points themselves off of turnovers. All in all I see Fresno coming
out of this with a 1-2 record, and that even with a conference
championship means no BCS bowl for them.

Nevada
Texas Tech
at Missouri

Both of Nevada's opponents are high on the list of early contenders
for a National Championship. With the amount of talent and
experience these two teams are bringing back, the Wolfpack would be
happy with a chance to go bowling somewhere. In my opinion there is
no BCS busting for Nevada this season.

La Tech
Mississippi State
at Kansas

La Tech actually might have a chance to beat MSU, but the fun ends
in Kansas. Also La Tech has had an amazing ability to under perform
in conference play and they will most likely not get buy the big
two. They should be bowl eligible this year, but that is about all
they can expect.

San Jose State
at Nebraska
at Stanford

The Spartans looked like they were turning the program around and
looking to pull a Rutgers like rise from the ashes. Fizzle Fizzle
is about what happened after two seasons ago. Now they have a
chance to be the dark horse in the WAC this year. With a key number
of BCS player transfers and a top flight receiving corp, the
Spartans could not only play spoiler to Fresno and Boise this year
since they play them at home, but they actually have a chance to
take the WAC championship. Stanford is not insurmountable, and this
amounts to a cross town rivalry game which adds to the intensity.
The Nebraska trip is where they stumble. Depth is what could bring
them down in the end. A couple of key injuries and the show is
over. I see them stumbling somewhere along the way and a two loss
San Jose State while enigmatic and flair for the media to cover is
not ranked high enough by seasons end to snipe a BCS spot. As a
side note, San Diego State better beat them

I've got a flower bed around one of my trees that has been
overgrown with a lot of strands of grass (a type of St. Augustine).
Last month I spent about 2 hours weeding it, but I wasn't able to
get down to the roots well enough to fix the problem, so now I've
got a bunch of grass popping up in the flower bed again. Also, the
grass roots and tree roots are all intertwined about 6 inches below
the mulch/dirt surface, so I can't just dig it out with a
shovel.

What I'm looking for is something that will 1) kill the grass/weeds
all the way down to the root AND 2) not kill the roots of the tree.
Do you know of anything that would do this?

Some questions for the more informed...(yes I know DTV operators
will help me, but I like consumer input)

Currently I have 3 Dish receivers....

1 regular in the basement - need the same
1 dual tuner DVR in the main room - need the same, plus probable
ugrade to HDTV
1 DVR in the master bedroom -- would love a dual tuner, plus
probable ugrade to HDTV

Need the lowest cost channel setup that gets me all BYU
games...

What do I need to order from DTV in order to get the best setup to
cover my needs?

Oh yeah...any ideas on the best way to find out if someone can
install a flat screen above my fireplace before I decide which new
TV to buy?

So much for my simple summer.. <img src="/emoticons/1043.gif"
