BYU Fans Suck More Each Day

http://heraldextra.com/news/local/article_0d5d3422-2f75-5ade-98e0-8b67c53c010f.html

Various quotes:

Defensive end Jan Jorgensen was told after the TCU game, by his parents, that quarterback Max Hall's wife was verbally assaulted by a group of BYU fans as she sat in the stands watching the game. They wanted backup quarterback Riley Nelson, a sophomore, to replace her husband -- a three-year starter now on the verge of winning 10 games every year (6-2 this season, with five to play). They said a lot of uncomplimentary things about Max.

"It's unbelievable," said assistant coach Hill. "It's not like we're 0-6. We're 6-2 and still have a lot of goals in front of us. Twenty-one years of coaching and I've never seen anything like it."

Some Cowboy hecklers have been known to become Neanderthals when the Cougars come to town, several current and former players will attest. But that's still better than getting harsh treatment from people who are supposed to be on your side, Hill said.

"It's definitely getting to them," Hill said. "When you don't want to play in your own stadium? Come on. These guys aren't getting booed anywhere else."

Mendenhall summed it up: "I would hold friends, or even enemies, to a higher standard."

They are classless dirtbags in Albuquerque. My first experience with them was down there for a football game where the student body chanted "F" BYU for about the entire warm up period and then throughout the game. Losers!

Hans criticized Bronco

pretty aggressively regarding Bronco's philosophy. He is not the first of the alumni from our program who has done so. I have heard quite a few guys say, "BYU football isn't a religious mission. You need to work more than your opponents if you want to win and the blowouts are an indication that the team is not outworking its opponents." So, Hans may have a mic and may put his criticism out there but Bronco has a lot of critics who just don't have mics.

That said, I think the critics are wrong about one thing. Their assumption is that BYU football doesn't work as hard as it once did because it is getting blown out by some teams. The fact is, BYU football has always been susceptible to being blown out. The problem with focusing on offense to the exclusion of defense is that sometimes you find you aren't in a game because they figured out your offense and your D couldn't keep you in the game.

I personally love seeing Rose bring in African-American players and think it's a huge deal. I believe it's pretty clear by now that BYU isn't going anywhere with a bunch of lanky, white RMs. With Abouo, Loyd, Morgan, Davies, and next year Winder, BYU may actually start to look like a credible Division I team. Good for Coach Rose.

All Bronco hate all day long. I used to be able to listen for a little while even though the anti-BYU bias was obvious. I literally have had to turn it off within the first two minutes every time I have turned it on this week. They won't last another year if they keep going down this path.

Pretty sad that BYU doesn't even like playing at

LES anymore. With the comments from some of the coaches and players I highly doubt we beat Utah this year. The team just sounds like it would rather play on the road and feels disconnected with the fan base.

Tom Holmoe needs to really evaluate things this off season and fix the relationship between the team and fans. This is not good and will hurt ticket sales next year.

You can't actually see the uniforms yet, but you can see a picture of the new helmet on the t-shirt in the first picture. Looks like black with red stripes?

Hans Olsen doesn't like Bronco much

Just listened to an interview 1280 did with Bronco this morning. Hans asked Bronco about the priorities list several times. Basically asked him why he hasn't helped Jan Jorgensen improve to get to the NFL. Asked if the coaches really work harder than other teams. Responded to several of Broncos answers with "Huh. That's an interesting theory Coach."

He also prefaced a question with (I'm paraphrasing) "Bronco, I see the athletes you guys have and know how good they are and know that they measure up to their opponents, so when I see losses, I start to wonder that, if the talent is there, what is lacking that causes these big losses......." and then he went into a question about priorities and if the coaches can actually put in enough time to outwork other coaching staffs. He was definitely trying to imply to Bronco that the coaching is the reason for the blowouts.

You can just hear it in every question......Hans doesn't like Bronco. Disagrees with his coaching philosophy and just about everything he does. It's almost like he's trying to lecture him with his questions.

Anyway........that is my report.
