Jimmer Fredette is back in the NBA, but this time is different

It has been 1,116 days since Jimmer Fredette last took the court during an NBA game, but the wait is finally over.
Jimmer Fredette is a Sun. Fredette agreed to a two year contract with the Western Conference’s worst team, the Phoenix Suns. The agreement guarantees Jimmer to play on the active roster for the remainder of the season with a team option next year.
The contract will likely give Jimmer the chance to perhaps make his final attempt as being a key player in the world’s best league. With the Suns mathematically out of the playoffs and not wanting to injure key players like Devin Booker, Fredette potentially could receive quite a bit of playing time in the final few games of the year.
Jimmer has been playing in China for the Shanghai Sharks for the past three seasons where he has seen his overall shooting percentage and three point shooting percentage go up every season. This past season, Jimmer shot .476 from the field and .419 from behind the arc while making 91.6% of his free throw attempts.
But how did we get here? How did we get from the Naismith Player of the year, to the Lonely Dragon of China to now the newest member of the struggling Suns.
