BYU Football Countdown: Player No. 87 Punts are now fun

Player 87 on our BYU Football countdown is the first player that is on the active roster.

When the Top 100 Countdown started and I made the list of every single player on the list that would be featured, I quickly realized that narrowing the list down to the top 100 was not going to be an easy task. Getting the last ten was pretty simple and getting the first twenty five or so was pretty simple as well. Everything in between was more difficult.

One of the most surprising things that I found however was how few of the players are on the current roster. There are plenty of good players that play on the team now, but again with the Top 100 being only 3-5% of players to ever come through the program, making the list takes some serious skill.

As just mentioned, today’s player is the first player that is on the team currently, in fact he is one of only two players that will be featured on this list from the current team. Again, that isn’t a knock against the team, it’s just that from thousands of athletes to choose from, narrowing it down is tough.
