The countdown continues to go forward as BYU Football is now 78 until kickoff against Utah.

78 days is not that long ago. Well sort of. 78 days ago, it was February 21st which seems like quite a while, but here are some things that were going on around that time around BYU Sports.

  • After making a nice run in the WCC, BYU lost to San Francisco 71-77 at home. Many point to this moment as the beginning of the end of Dave Rose.
  • BYU Baseball was already playing it’s fifth game of the season.
  • Softball was playing it’s ninth game having already played in Puerto Vallarta.
  • Men’s Volleyball was nearing its midway point of the season.

When you look at it that way, 78 days doesn’t seem THAT far away, but still a bit of distance. The nice thing about countdowns is tomorrow, when we are 77 days away, it would be like saying from now (then) until February 23rd.

As we continue to bring you the BYU Football Countdown we feature a player who only was on the roster for two seasons because of issues with the honor code, however made quite the impact for the team in the mid 1990’s.
