BYU Football will play the Utah Utes to kickoff the 2019 in just 53 more days.

53 days ago it was May 15th. On that day kids were almost done with school doing final projects and starting to study for finals, Alabama passed the bill that would almost make abortion impossible, Milwaukee defeated Toronto in the first game of the Eastern Conference Finals and BYU Football seemed forever away.

We are getting there!

Yesterday, as I was rewatching the Peach Bowl between Florida and Michigan I noticed how tight the receivers and defensive backs ran and covered their routes. It was amazing to see how accurate and perfectly timed most of the passes had to be for them to be successful. It was in this moment as I watched two true top ten teams (Wisconsin wasn’t really a top ten team when BYU beat them) I realized that BYU has some work to do before they or the fan base should be expecting an elite team.

That isn’t to say BYU Football is bad, but those two teams were so perfect that I was thinking “If BYU was in this game they would be blown out”. Sorry to be pessimistic but that was my thought process. They can get there though!

Today’s player is a receiver that COULD have ran the routes I was seeing yesterday and competed well with a tough Michigan or Florida defense.
