KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Both BYU and Tennessee entered Saturday night’s game looking to bounce back from disappointing losses a week ago.
Each team wanted to make a statement early with a high-intensity game under the lights.
During Tennessee’s first offensive series, BYU defensive end Zac Dawe made a tackle on Tennessee Jarrett Guarantano.
After the tackle was made, Dawe then suddenly chucked Guarantano’s shoe near the Tennessee sideline.

Not very often you see someone in a college football game chucking a shoe. But that’s what we got in this crazy game featuring a pair of 0-1 teams looking to avoid 0-2 starts. Something each school hasn’t experienced in decades.
On that drive that Dawe chucked the shoe, Tennessee scored a touchdown to take a 7-0 lead.
