PROVO — BYU will reportedly start Baylor Romney at quarterback in the Cougars’ matchup with Boise State Saturday night, with Jaren Hall being unavailable, according to BYU play-by-play announcer Greg Wrubell.

The redshirt freshman Romney will get his first start against the No. 13/14 Broncos after playing his first snaps for the Cougars last week.

Romney replaced Hall at quarterback midway through the fourth quarter last week in a 27-23 loss to South Florida, after Hall sustained concussion-like symptoms.

Romney completed 6 of 10 passes for 73 yards in his two drives against the Bulls, but both drives stalled in scoring territory.
