PROVO, Utah – Isolation, quarantines, social distancing, whatever terms you want to use during this unprecedented have led people to turn to Tik Tok dance challenges to pass the time. Some of us try and fail the challenges, while others, like BYU guard Shaylee Gonzales, master these dance challenges.
The Toosie Slide challenge is the popular Tik Tok dance right now and Gonzales crushed it with her brother. Folks, I told you, Gonzales is a must-follow in the BYU sports social media world.

In the words of Drake, Gonzales just showed us how to get it. It go right foot up, left foot, slide. Left foot up, right foot, slide. Impressive. This might be the motivation we need as a KSL Sports team to put out our own version of the Toosie Slide challenge on TikTok.
Gonzales is preparing for her redshirt sophomore season at BYU after sitting out this past season due to an ACL injury she suffered last summer. In her true freshman campaign, Gonzales helped lead BYU to a WCC Tournament title and an appearance in the Second Round of the NCAA Tournament.

One of the top guards out west, Gonzales was a Team USA U19 World Cup trials participant last year and is on pace for a full recovery from her ACL injury. Gonzales is gearing up to lead BYU next season in a backcourt that will feature Paisley Johnson, an All-WCC First Team performer this year.
In her true freshman season, Gonzales averaged 17.1 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 4.1 assists to go with the viral social media content she is creating.
