Austin Collie Creates Mural Highlighting Family Bloodlines To BYU Football

PROVO, Utah – When Austin Collie played at BYU in the mid-2000s, he was the third member of the Collie family to suit up for the Cougars.
BYU has a rich tradition with generations of families donning the blue and white. But few can match the impact the Collie family made on the program.
To highlight the strong ties to BYU football in his family, Austin Collie, often viewed as the greatest receiver in BYU’s history created a mural in his son’s room showcasing all the men in his family who have played for the Cougars.

The mural features pictures of Austin along with his father, Scott Collie, who played wide receiver from 1978-82, father-in-law Kirk Pendleton (bottom right), who was teammates with Scott in the early 80s as a wide receiver for the Cougars.
Also featured in the mural are his older brother Zac Collie (2003-2006), younger brother Dylan Collie (2012, 2018), and brother-in-law Jordan Pendleton, a linebacker at BYU from 2007 to 2011.
Collie gave thanks to the help of BYU’s Creative Services Director Dave Broberg and Vision Graphics for assistance with the mural.
Broberg directs the production of all visual communication for BYU athletics and creates recruiting edits for future football prospects.
Vision Graphics has created a lot of the gameday signage around LaVell Edwards Stadium, including the new classic game banners put into the concourse last season.

Those family bonds run deep, even in a football program.
