Ty’Son Williams and Zach Wilson have outstanding NFL debuts: BYU Football Pro Tracker Week 1

The Baltimore Raven’s top three running backs (Le’Veon Bell, Devonta Smith, and Gus Edwards) are all battling injuries, but former BYU player Ty’Son Williams was ready for his turn.  He was promoted to RB1 in week 1 and made the most of his opportunity by scoring his first NFL touchdown in the first quarter of Monday night football. Williams finished with nine carries for 65 yards and a touchdown and three receptions for 29 yards.

Ty’Son wasn’t the only Williams with an outstanding week one performance. Jamaal Williams had an incredible game for his new team (the Detroit Lions). He finished with nine carries for 54 yards and a touchdown to go along with eight receptions for 56 yards.

And, of course, the whole nation was watching the debut performance of Zach Wilson who didn’t disappoint.  He finished with 20-for-37 passing for 258 yards and two touchdowns.

In total there were 15 former BYU players in action during week one, another six on practice squads, and nine looking for playing opportunities.  Below are the snap counts and statistics for each player.
