BYU didn’t get to play in the conference battle this year since there were 14 Big 12 teams compared to 11 Big East teams. The Big 12 is expanding to 16 teams this season, but BYU still got the nod as one of the 11 teams. The 5 teams reportedly left out are the 4 Big 12 newcomers and UCF.
Providence missed the NCAA Tournament this past season, but had a respectable 21-14 season and finished with a 59 KenPom ranking. They made the tournament the two seasons prior, including a Sweet 16 appearance in 2022. The Friars have had a strong portal season and will present a nice challenge for BYU. This will almost assuredly be a Quad 1 game for BYU. The game will likely be on a FOX network and typically falls around the first weekend in December.
So far we know 6 of 11 BYU’s non-conference games. The Big 12 is moving from an 18 to 20-game league schedule, so BYU will move from 13 to 11 non-league games. The college basketball season begins November 4

- Rady Children's Invitational (San Diego) — November 28-29; BYU will play 2 of Arkansas, Purdue, or Notre Dame
