Having played fullback behind legendary quarterbacks such as Wilson, McMahon, and Young, Mike Lacey (1978-1981) witnessed numerous tales of comebacks, acts of courage, and the highs and lows of a team rising to national prominence. Notably, some of his former teammates like Andy Reid and Kyle Whittingham, continue to leave a lasting impact on the game.

The purpose of each episode is to share the intriguing stories behind and beyond each team, game, and player. These stories are always meant to inspire and apply to each of our daily lives!

Playing 119 games for BYU, Fred became an integral part of the team during a basketball renaissance era alongside legends like Danny Ainge and Greg Kite. Known for his impeccable shooting and deft touch, Fred left an indelible mark on BYU's basketball legacy. Finishing as the second leading scorer in school history behind Danny Ainge, Fred embarked on a professional career that took him across various teams in the NBA.


Fred's NBA journey reached new heights when he joined the Utah Jazz in 1984, where he played alongside notable players like Karl Malone. Fred's talent then caught the attention of the Boston Celtics, where he signed a two-year deal in September 1986, sharing the court with basketball legends like Larry Bird, Kevin McHale, and Robert Parish. His contributions to the Celtics further solidified his reputation as a skilled and versatile player.
