Overall, Utah has had better success than BYU for about a decade (the Clips have been better than the Lakers for a year). And even in a lot of years where BYU is supposed to be better (e.g., 2012, 2011, 2005) Utah beats us.

I'm not saying BYU is second fiddle to Utah in football or anything else. I agree that BYU has a stronger brand than Utah in many ways. But BYU doesn't get more media coverage than the Utes (sure, on KSL and in the DesNews they do), but talk radio guys talk about them 50/50 in my experience. BYU and Utah share first fiddle with Utah State playing second fiddle in the state.

Believe me, I WANT Utah to be third fiddle after BYU and USU. I hate the Utes. I want them to lose every single game. But the fact of the matter is, they aren't second fiddle. They are coequals with us.
